China's art, language and culture is deeply symbolic. The character based language provides a rich and evocative basis for the communication of concepts, meanings and values.

One particular set of symbols is ¡s The Four Gentlemen, represented artistically as flowers, specifically - plum (梅) orchid (兰) bamboo (竹) and chrysanthemum (菊). These are the characters you see in the window above.

In Chinese literature and art The Four Gentlemen can represent a number of things including the four seasons, the four cardinal directions as well as particular character traits that also represent what ChinaGreen stands for.
